Spinner
The nose cone which covers the hub of the propeller. Check that the spinner does not touch the propeller blades as this may result in the propeller blades wearing and possibly failing.

Spinner The bullet-shaped fairing on the nose of the airplane around the propeller. This smooths the airflow around the propeller hub and also makes the airplane look much better.

Spinner: A streamline fairing fitting co-axially over the hub or variable pitch mechanism of a propeller, and rotating with it.
Spiral: A continuous banked turn made during a glide with the engine stopped or "ticking-over".

SPINNER - A streamlined fairing over a propeller hub.

SPOILERS - Drag-inducing surfaces which can be deployed differentially for lateral control, or simultaneously for lift dumping to improve the effectiveness of landing brakes.

The spinner nose cone on a Piper is required for flight. It serves as a cooling deflector for the engine air intake.

Starting at the spinner, the final-production Skycatcher uses an all-metal, fixed-pitch McCauley prop in place of the original composite blades.

For example, if the datum were positioned at the tip of the propeller spinner or the front edge of the a seat it is possible that during the life of the aircraft a new spinner or seat design may be installed thus changing the reference position.

Spinners and spinsocks can be attached to the flying line for visual effect. There are rotating wind socks which spin like a turbine. On large display kites these tails, spinners and spinsocks can be 50 feet (15m) long or more.

Check the propeller spinner too, inspect the propeller leading edge for nicks and dents.

Features usually sold as options that are included as standard equipment on the Warrior III include dual hydraulic brakes, wingtip strobe lights, exterior paint with two color stripes, and a two-year spinner-to-tail factory warranty.
