Standard Rate Turn
A standard rate turn is a turn in which an airplane completes a 360 degree turn in 2 minutes. This is done by have a turn of 3 degrees per second. If the airplane is moving faster then 250 knots then a standard rate turn is 1.

 


Standard rate turn. A turn in which an aircraft changes its direction at a rate of 3° per second. The turn indicators are typically 2 minute or 4 minute instruments.

Standard rate turn is a standardized rate at which the aircraft will make a 360 degree turn in two minutes (120 seconds). Standard rate turn is indicated on turn coordinator or turn-slip indicator.

STANDARD RATE TURN- A turn of three degrees per second.
STANDARD TERMINAL ARRIVAL- A preplanned instrument flight rule (IFR) air traffic control arrival procedure published for pilot use in graphic and/or textual form.

A standard rate turn is defined to be three degrees per second. This is what ATC expects when you're on an instrument clearance. It is also called a two-minute turn, because at that rate it takes two minutes to make a complete 360∘ turn.
