Stratus (St)
Stratus is defined as low cloud that appears fragmented and thin. It can also occur in the form of a layer or sheet.

Stratus: A fog-like layer of low cloud.
Streamline: A form designed to reduce resistance to motion through a fluid and to eliminate eddies.

Low stratus
Often seen near a shower in moist areas and affects the ceiling limits. Results in sudden visibility reduction in mountainous terrain making flight below MOCA (Minimum Obstacle Clearance Altitude) impossible without ground violations.
