Stub: Another name for a sponson or similar short projection from an aeroplane.
Stunts: a colloquial name for aerobatics.

 


Early autogyros had stub wings which provided part of the lift in forward flight, but the main source of lift was the rotor.

A 'stub' projection protects the final approach path to the main runway outwards from the MATZ boundary, enclosing an area two nautical miles either side of the extended runway centreline and upwards from 1,000 feet above the surface to 3, ...

A card given to the passenger after check-in which allocates a seat number or indicates a boarding pattern. The stub of the card should be retained after going through the boarding gate to show to the flight crew once reaching the aircraft.

As we have no use for a coupling in this instance, a simple turned stub shaft is attached to accommodate a commercially available sprocket for the cog belt.
