Tachometer

Aviation TACANTactical air navigation

Tachometer: A device for measuring angular velocity.
Tactical Air Navigation: A basic guidance mode, providing lateral guidance to a TACAN station; equipment that determines range and bearing to a radio station with a TACAN transmitter.

Tachometer
An optical sensor designed specifically to count light impulses through a turning propeller and read out the engine rpm (revolutions per minute).

Tachometer - an instrument that measures the rotating speed of an engine in revolutions per minute (RPM) or in percent of the maximum RPM.
Taxi - To move an airplane on the ground under its own power.

Tachometer: A revolution indicator (or "rev counter").
Tailbooms: Elongated girder or tubular structures used on some aeroplanes instead of the normal fuselage to carry the tail.

Dual Tachometer
The right hand instrument in the upper row is the dual tachometer: ...

T
tachometer

The control in the cockpit which controls engine output ...

Tachometer is primary for power. As before, required airspeed is controlled by power adjustments. The TC should be calibrated by doing timed turns. The rate of turn is based on airspeed and angle of bank.

There are of course other red lines and red arcs (on tachometers, oil-temperature gauges, etc.), but they are not relevant to the present discussion. 16… except perhaps in a minor way that is not relevant here. See section 11.5.

Also, if the part being bought is something that is being manufactured as a replacement for a much more expensive AN part, i.e. a less expensive airspeed or tachometer, and it turns out to be junk, will the company stand behind it?

is observed on the tachometer. Pulling back on the propeller control causes the propeller blades to move to a higher angle. Increasing the propeller blade angle (of attack) results in an increase in the resistance of the air.

Many of the Skyhawks on the market have been used primarily as training airplanes, with a lot of hard training hours on the tachometer and a huge number of landings. Be ready to pay above-market prices for low-time, well-maintained models.
