Taxiing up to the front door of your home is the stuff of dreams for most aviators
If you're serious about flying, at some point your dreams have wandered to airparks.

a. A taxiing aircraft, which is approaching a runway, is clear of the runway when all parts of the aircraft are held short of the applicable holding position marking.

After taxiing to the desired runway for takeoff, you will be directed to stop before reaching what is called the runway holding position markings. These markings can be identified by yellow painted lines, two dashed lines and two solid yellow lines.

As always, when taxiing on a soft surface, keep the airplane moving. If you stop, the airplane might sink in, and you will be unable to get it moving again.

This is the ramp weight minus any fuel used for taxiing. Major airports may have runways which are about two miles (3 km) long, so merely taxiing from the terminal to the end of the runway might consume up to a ton of fuel.

After considerable taxiing on his farm paddocks Pearse made his first public flight attempt down Main Waitohi Road adjacent to his farm. After a short distance aloft, perhaps 50 yards, he crashed on top of his own gorse fence.

Taxi operations require constant vigilance by the entire flight crew, not just the pilot taxiing the airplane. This is especially true during flight training operations.

Category IIIb (CAT IIIb) - An ILS facility providing operation with no decision height limit to and along the surface of the runway without reliance on external visual reference and, subsequently, taxiing with an external RVR of not less than 150 ...

For approaching aircraft, in the event that taxiing/parked aircraft or vehicle is not clear of the POFZ, air traffic control will provide advisories to the approaching aircraft regarding the position of the offending aircraft/vehicle.

The OFZ clearing standard precludes taxiing and parked airplanes and object penetrations, except for frangible NAVAID locations that are fixed by function.

Systems check made on the ground through engine runup and taxiing. Checks made using auxiliary power or testing equipment to simulate, insofar as possible, actual conditions under which the system is to operate.

Hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions result from incomplete combustion at the lower power settings used for descent, or when idling or taxiing on the ground.

traffic pattern - The traffic flow that is prescribed for aircraft landing at, taxiing on, or taking off from an airport. The components of a typical traffic pattern are upwind leg, crosswind leg, downwind leg, base leg, and final approach.

Taxiway: A defined path established for the taxiing of aircraft from one part of the airport to another.
Terminal Building: A building or buildings designed to accommodate the enplanning and deplanning activities of air carrier passengers.

A defined path on a land aerodrome established for the taxiing of aircraft and intended to provide a link between one part of the aerodrome and another.
Temperature Inversion
Atmospheric condition where temperature increases with altitude.

local controller - The controller stationed at the ATCT who gives pilots taxiing and runway directions as well as clearance for takeoffs and landings. (also known as the "Tower Controller").

If, according to the flight plan, the flight from point A to point B will take three hours and twelve minutes, the block flying time estimation will be fixed to compensate for the time that will be spent pushing back from the gate, taxiing to the ...

Main 3D Spot Plane. View from rear, fast transition, distance 150 feet, altitude 20 feet, preference Roll. (These settings are helpful for taxiing the aircraft, and checking gear position in flight.) ...

Tailwheel airplanes are thus much more susceptible to the wind while taxiing the aircraft, or even while parked outdoors (this will be where the aircraft will spend the vast majority of its life, unless hangared).

It ends when the speed permits the aircraft to be maneuvered by means of taxiing off the runway for the purpose of arriving at a parking area. It may also end by the crew initiating a "go-around" phase.

At low speeds the elevator will not work. During ground taxiing manoeuvres the elevator may be used to stop the nose of the aircraft pitching into the ground, this will rely on the thrust from the aircraft being directed by the tailplane.
