Temperature lapse rates in the troposphere
The temperature lapse rates in the troposphere vary by latitude, climatic zone and season, ...

Airport reference temperature
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

temperature - The degree of hotness or coldness on a definite scale by means of a thermometer.

Temperature and QNH
Has a direct effect on air density and thus climb performance. At any altitude where OAT is higher than standard ISA temperature climb performance will be reduced.

Temperature Inversion
Atmospheric condition where temperature increases with altitude.
Terminal Deicing Facility ...

Temperature: Degrees of heat. There is a temperature variation of 129 degrees Fahrenheit (71Â-5 degrees Centigrade) between sea level (59 degrees F International Standard Atmosphere) and a height of 40, ...

Temperature - is one of the major ones .... choose the correct resin and hardener for the temperature of your workplace ! Not only during the application ...

Temperature
Degrees Celsius are the standard units of termperature.

Temperature
TEN SECONDS
Directive to terminal controller to standby for LASER ON call in approximately 10 seconds.

The temperature at the throat is also reduced, however this phenomenon is not related to the Bernoulli principle. The relationship between pressure and temperature is defined by Boyle's** law.

Oil temperature operating range is between 15 to 100 degrees Centigrade.
Turbine Outlet Temperature (TOT)
This gauge is mounted just below the torque gauge, and indicates the turbine outlet temperature.

a higher temperature,
a higher dewpoint, and/or
a lower pressure.
If a parcel of air is less dense than the surrounding air, it will be subject to an upward force.5 ...

Outside Air Temperature
ornithopter
An aeroplane propelled by wings that flap or oscillate.

OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE (OAT)
The temperature just outside the aircraft; Symbols: T; Typical Units: deg; Dimensions: Temperature
OVER-THE-TOP
above the layer of clouds or other obscuring phenomena forming the ceiling ...

exhaust gas temperature
EICAS
engine indicating and crew alerting system ...

The pressure, temperature, and density of the atmosphere constantly change. At any one time there are great variations in the properties of the atmosphere, depending on location around the planet and height above the surface of the planet.

Outside Air Temperature: The temperature just outside the aircraft.
Override: To alter selection made automatically by software contained in the aircraft.
Overrule: In a trial, to overrule means to reject an objection.

C - Celsius (temperature) or compass.
C of A - Certificate of Airworthiness issued by the CAA indicating that an aircraft meets the Authority's airworthiness standards.

As well as wind, temperature and altitude also affects true airspeed. When altitude or air temperature increase the density of air decreases and so true airspeed increases.

Indicated Air Speed (IAS) - A direct instrument reading obtained from an air speed indicator uncorrected for altitude, temperature, atmospheric density, or instrument error.

When those terminals are exposed to a temperature range of as low as 0 degrees or lower in the winter to 180 degrees under the cowling or behind the panel in summer, that metal expands and contracts with the temperature.

air data - Values cmputed from pitot, static and temperature measurements, usually by means of a digital computer; ARINC 575 defines outputs.

Rectified airspeed corrected for altitude and outside air temperature.
TCA: Terminal Control Area.
TCAS: Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System. U.S.

You needn't worry about the best manifold and rpm settings, the temperature of the nonexistent turbocharger, procedures for failure of retractable gear, or whether you will even get to your destination on time. Of course you won't.

According to the ideal gas law, the pressure of a gas in a sealed container exhibits a directly proportional relationship to the gas's temperature. Hence, if the temperature of the gas doubles, so does the pressure.

Evaporation of fuel causes a drop in temperature, when enough moisture and the temperature drops below freezing (in the carb throat) ice will form on the throat of the carb, causing a restriction.

Thus, comfortable temperature setting for the pilots caused the other crew members to freeze, while comfortable temperature for the bottom crew caused the pilots to overheat. The J57 engines were still new and unreliable.

Since NOx results from burning petroleum products at very high temperatures, researchers are studying ways to lower the temperature inside a jet engine during high-power operations, ...

Both magnetic and thermal type circuit breakers are available however circuit protection in aircraft is primarily provided by thermal circuit breakers which are dependent on temperature rise in the sensing element for actuation.

In between these scheduled maintenance checks, computers onboard the aircraft monitor the performance of aircraft systems and record such things as abnormal temperatures and fuel consumption.

Descents in any radial present a challenge in that it's important to maintain reasonable oil temperatures. The 195 is especially susceptible in that the big wing resists descents, seducing you into major power reductions.

Given the surface wind conditions, outside air temperature, and type of runway surface, it is important to determine both take-off and landing distances for said aircraft.

Note the ambient temperature, altitude, engine RPM, and the mainfold pressure. Repeat this step for different speeds.

Easy to work with: requires simple tools and processes, and does not require a temperature-controlled or dust-free environment, as with composites. Modern blind rivet fasteners have greatly simplified all-metal kit aircraft construction; ...

International Standard Atmosphere An imaginary atmosphere that assumes at mean sea level a temperature of 15° C and a pressure of 1,013Â-2 millibars, and a fall in temperature of 6Â-5°C per 1,000m of increased height from sea level up to 11,000m, ...

Surface dew point and temperature are a good indicator of storm severity.

Mach 1 - The speed of sound - about 660 knots (760mph) at sea level, and about 580 knots (670mph) at 36,000 feet - varies as square root of air temperature
Mach number - The ratio of true airspeed in relation to the speed of sound, e.g.

Hypothermia: The decrease of core body temperature to a level at which normal muscular and cerebral functions are impaired (and see Cold Shock and Vasogenic Shock).
IAS: indicated airspeed.
IFR: Instrument Flight Rules.
