Terminal Area
A general term used to describe airspace in which approach control service or airport traffic control service is provided.
Total Air Temperature (TAT) ...

VFR Terminal Area Chart
If you plan to fly in or near a large metropolitan area a VFR Terminal Area Chart may be available. A VFR terminal Area Chart has everything a sectional chart has but in greater detail. The scale is 1/250,00.

TERMINAL AREA FACILITY- A facility providing air traffic control service for arriving and departing IFR, VFR, Special VFR, and on occasion en route aircraft.
(See APPROACH CONTROL FACILITY.)
(See TOWER.) ...

TAF
Terminal Area Forecast (weather forecast)
TAIL DRAGGER
The nickname of an airplane that sits on its tail with the two main wheels in front and a tail wheel in the rear.

TAF - Terminal Area Forecast.
TAS - true airspeed. Rectified airspeed corrected for altitude and outside air temperature.

The continuous broadcast of recorded noncontrol information in selected terminal areas.

AIRPORT TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER (ATCT) - A central operations facility in the terminal area air traffic control system, consisting of a tower cab structure and an associated instrument flight rule (IFR) room if radar equipped, ...

Centers control IFR aircraft from the time they depart from an airport or terminal area's airspace to the time they arrive at another airport or terminal area's airspace.

Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) radar used primarily to detect and display an aircraft's position while en route between terminal areas.

Local Area Augmentation System - A ground-based augmentation to GPS that focuses its service on the airport area (approximately a 20-30 mile radius) for precision approach, departure procedures and terminal area operations.

They sometimes also provide for the separation of instrument flight rules (IFR) aircraft in terminal areas through co-located terminal radar approach control (TRACON) facilities.

Outer Marker (OM) - An Instrument Landing System navigation facility in the terminal area navigation system located four to seven miles from the runway edge on the extended centerline indicating to the pilot that he/she is passing over the ...

AUTOMATIC TERMINAL INFORMATION SERVICE (ATIS) - Continuous broadcast of recorded noncontrol information in selected terminal areas, ...

Air Route Surveillance Radar (ASR): A remote radar facility connected to an air route traffic control center and used to detect and display the azimuth and range of enroute aircraft operating between terminal areas, ...

Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR located and classifies windshear conditions and provides advisories in the terminal area. These data are available through the DLP.)
TEMP

The owner flies the Stationair pretty much as it came from the factory, though he did replace the standard TIS avionics feature with an active TCAS that will identify traffic outside of major terminal areas.

are cruising at high speeds in en route airspace, the standard is five miles of horizontal radar separation or 1,000 feet of vertical separation. When aircraft are moving at much slower speeds as they depart or approach the airport terminal area, ...

The three aeronautical charts used by VFR pilots are the sectional chart, VFR terminal area chart, and the world aeronautical chart. The charts provide an abundance of information including airport data navigational aids, airspace and topography.

- A planned IFR air traffic control arrival procedure published for pilot use in graphic and textual form. STARs provide transition from the en route air traffic control structure to an outer fix or an instrument approach fix in the terminal area.
