Touch and go

I passed my FAA physical exam on the prior Wednesday after school and I went up with Doug on Saturday morning to practice "‘touch and go's" (this is when you stay in a pattern around the airfield and briefly land your plane, ...

Make at least every third landing a touch and go.
There is no such thing as making too many landings. Landings teach you everything you need to know about flying an airplane.

A low approach, below traffic pattern or a touch and go operation is counted as both a landing and a takeoff, i.e., two operations.

A pilot undergoing training will often fly many patterns, one after another. Usually, each landing is followed immediately by a take off and further pattern; this is called a touch and go, or roller.

You can taxi the length of the runway or do touch and goes in 56K without ever using the nose wheel. It is more difficult if there are no back seat passengers but it is possible. Keep a bit of power on.

If you have enough runway to touch down but not stop, consider doing a touch and go (which works better if you leave the gear down).
