Trainers
There are a number of requirements for the basic trainer aircraft. Points to consider whether you are designing, constructing or choosing are outlined along with some of the most popular kits on the market. more......

Trainers: A generic term for aircraft used for flying training.
Transport: A civil or military aeroplane used for freight or troop carrying.
Trim: The set or angle at which an aeroplane flies under given conditions.

Some trainers are better because their handling characteristics are not good when viewed in modern design terms. Current design has all but eliminated adverse yaw, but an airplane with lots of adverse yaw forces the student to use the rudder.

Yes, I'm a big, big fan of using ground trainers (let's call them simulators here) for the instrument rating. There's absolutely no reason why they can't and shouldn't be used for the 20 hours of instrument training you mentioned.

Simulators, procedures trainers, or PC training devices can help to retain and sharpen your basic flying skills.

For tailwheel training, trainers should be blind in the three-point attitude so that the student cannot see straight ahead while on the ground.
Primary trainers should have as few instruments as possible and no stall warning horn.

In typical trainers, this means shoving the yoke all the way forward, but in other aircraft, especially aerobatic aircraft, all the way forward might select a large negative angle of attack.

With Cessna's heritage as the most popular manufacturer of GA trainers, the Wichita company was virtually guaranteed to enter this new market.

Most pilots today are much more comfortable (and safer) with a tricycle gear configuration, as nearly all trainers are tricycles.

General aviation is a catch-all covering other kinds of private and commercial use, and involving a wide range of aircraft types such as business jets (bizjets), trainers, homebuilt, aerobatic types, racers, gliders, warbirds, firefighters, ...

They also received some of the assets of Manpi, Manchukoku Air Industries, and Japanese-built Jungmann trainers, which Soviet forces left for them.

Typically, more dihedral causes more aerodynamic stability in an airplane, and causes the rudder to control both the roll and yaw axis. This is why some trainers and sailplanes require only 3 channels of radio control-i.e., having no ailerons.
