Vortex generators
These are comb like protrusions on the top of the wing.
vortex generators are small plates about an inch deep standing on edge in a row spanwise along the wing. They are placed at an angle of attack and (like a wing airfoil section) generate vortices.
Do vortex generators play the same role as dimples on a golf ball? Not exactly. Unlike a golf ball, a wing is supposed to produce lift.
Minor features include wing fences, leading-edge dog teeth, vortex generators, blisters, pylons, winglets and wingtip pods. These are not usually considered significant to the wing configuration.
