According to Vref, the aircraft valuation service available on AOPA Online, Jensen's 1966 172G has a retail value of $37,321; Brown's 1972 172L is valued at $46,313; and Gibbs' 1980 172RG is valued at $74,698.

The go-around and missed approach is best initiated before slowing to Vref since it reduces the acceleration time required for Vy.

Approach Speed is the speed at which an aircraft travels while it is on the final straight to land at a runway, and is also shortened to Vref.

The values listed come directly from the latest Aircraft Bluebook Price Digest and the Vref Aircraft Value Reference. You may find examples of these aircraft that are both higher and lower in price; however, we're guided by nationwide sales data.

The reference value is Vref = 2.5 volts.+ 0.2. If the voltage value drops below this value then data acquired will be meaning less. If this happen do not use the data for the corresponding time segment.

The airflow (V) is deflected down by the down wash in an angle resulting in actual airflow (VREF). Vector represents the vertical flow caused by the downwash.
