Waypoint
A waypoint is a 3-dimensional point in space and/or time in which a set of coordinates is defined. They are most commonly used for flight navigation.

Waypoint: A point on the ground, predefined as a point of interest for the flight; a basic guidance mode, providing lateral guidance to a waypoint.

Active waypoint - The waypoint being used by the FMS/RNAV as the reference navigation point for course guidance.

Waypoint. A designated geographical location used for route definition or progress-reporting purposes and is defined in terms of latitude/longitude coordinates.

A predetermined geographical position used for route/instrument approach definition, or progress reporting purposes, that is defined relative to a VORTAC station or in terms of latitude/longitude coordinates ...

Waypoint - A predetermined geographical position that is defined in terms of latitude/longitude coordinates. See also Fly-By Waypoint and Fly-Over Waypoint.

Waypoint (w/p): A predetermined geo-graphical position used for route definition and/or progress reporting purposes that is defined relative to a VORT AC station position.

ADRIW is what is called a "sensor FAF". A Sensor FAF is a final approach waypoint created and added to the database sequence of waypoints to support GPS navigation of a published, no FAF, non-precision approach.

Most waypoints are classified as compulsory reporting points, i.e. the pilot (or the onboard flight management system) reports the aircraft position to air traffic control as the aircraft passes a waypoint. There are two main types of waypoints: ...

FLY-BY WAYPOINT- A fly-by waypoint requires the use of turn anticipation to avoid overshoot of the next flight segment.

When looking for a waypoint, such as your destination airport, it doesn't do you much good to be on course if you have already inadvertently passed the waypoint. Therefore, it is vital to know how far you have progressed along the course.

Waypoint: Reference point used for navigation, usually indicated by latitude and longitude and sometimes altitude and typically used for GPS and INS navigation.
Willco: Will comply. See Roger.

After editing a flight plan to change or add waypoints, verify that the routing is correct by reviewing the waypoints in the list on the MFD's Flight Plan page.

We can tell aircraft to go directly to a particular waypoint on their route, cutting out any preceding waypoints. This allows us to make a certain degree of adjustment to their direction but still leave them on their own navigation.

After pressing the button, the unit calls up a menu of waypoint types, or allows you to enter a waypoint name. This feature should feel easy to use and logical to you, since you'll probably use it more than any other one function.

Rnav - area navigation. A system of radio navigation which permits direct point-to-point off-airways navigation by means of an on-board computer creating phantom VOR/DME transmitters termed waypoints.
RON - remain over night (night-stop).

controlled time of arrival - The assignment and acceptance of an entry/use time for a specific NAS resource. Examples include point-in-space metering, time to be at a runway, or taxi waypoints.
