Bank Shot - A shot in which the ball first touches the backboard before it goes into the hoop. A player will often try a bank shot when shooting from a difficult angle.
Bank shot - a shot where the ball is first bounced (or banked) off the backboard at such an angle that it then drops into the basket.
Baseline - the boundary line behind each basket; also called the baseline.
Bank shot -A SHOT that is aimed at the backboard so it "banks" into the BASKET. This shot is used when close to the basket and usually face on and not to the sides of the court.

A bank shot in basketball is a shot that relies on the ball bouncing off the backboard and into the basket. It is frequently used for mid-range jump shots from an angle (usually at the elbow) and layups.

The out of bounds line behind the basket designating the end of the court. Also referred to as the “Endline' see end line.
When making a bank shot, the shooter solves the problem on a spot related to the painted rectangle above the basket. For all other shots, however, he must decide upon a sighting point somewhere on the rim.
This leaves your tallest player(#3 inline) behind a double screen for a lob pass and an easy bank shot.

Focus your eyes on the basket, aiming just over the front of the rim for all except bank shots. Use a bank shot when you are at a 45-degree angle to the backboard.
Generally, bank shots are most effective when taken at approximately 45-degree angles from the front rim and from no more than 15 feet away.
Each person on each team must convert a layup, bank shot from outside the lane, a free throw and a three pointer, in no particular order.
If the defenders switch and 5 seals 3X, he should be open for short jumper or bank shot

To work on your jump shot, have someone rebound for you while you practice, practice, practice! Aim for the squares on the backboard as you shoot bank shots - from one block to the other.
