As the defender nears the offense, he/she throws both hands in the air, at the same time staying low. The last few steps are either stutter steps or bunny-hops, but the defense must approach the lead foot and straddle it with both of their feet.

Brick: jargon for a lazy shot that deflects off the rim or backboard.
Bunny or Bury: on the other hand, these terms refer to an easy score.
Buzzer Beater: shot that is made on the right side of the buzzer signaling the end of period/game.
