Carrying the ball - also called œpalming;€ a violation committed by a dribbler that involves placing the dribbling hand under the ball and shortly holding or carrying it while dribbling.
Carrying the Ball: This is when a player moves his hand under the ball and then brings his hand back over the top while he is dribbling. This is not allowed and the ball goes to the other team.

Passing lane: An imaginary line from the player with the ball to a teammate. If a defender is in the way, the passing lane is closed.
