Clear Out - When an offensive player leaves an area so the ball handler has more room to maneuver.
Clock-Down Cut - A cut toward the baseline by a helpside forward.
Control Dribble - A low dribble used when closely guarded.

Clear out!
When facing a man-to-man press, you should clear the backcourt and let your point guard bring the ball up one on one. That's obviously sound advice.

Clear out rocks and other hard objects or debris from the track. Hitting these things before jumping or upon landing can result in serious injury.

An offensive player (not the “Ball Handler') moves away from an area to give his teammate (the “Ball Handler') more room to maneuver.

b) Basketcut and clear out to same side as wing fills in guard spot. See figure 3.
On basketcuts; 1) Hesitate one count then take side (ball or backcut) that defender allows (no wrestling match). 2) If post is still weakside, then screen his defender.

clear out: see one-on-one showdown. Commissioner: the president of the NBA. court: the 94' x 50' area bounded by 2 sidelines and 2 end lines containing a basket at each end, on which a basketball game is played.

We try to set up opportunities for driving with clear outs and lots of motion and an open middle.
We look at the half court set as a process that exists to create openings.

If covered, O1 should clear out and cut to the ball-side sideline just beyond the half court line. O2 should cut toward the middle to receive the pass from O3. Or O3 could pass to O1 up the ball-side sideline.

If he does, the hook back forward must clear out to the other side of the floor and hook back on that side (see diagram 45). Every time the dribbler changes sides of the floor, the hook back forward also changes side of the court.

The coach who blows the whistle returns the loose ball to the coach at the midcourt area after the players clear out.
