Continuity offenses are characterized by a pattern of movement, cuts, screens and passes which eventually leads back to the starting formation. At this point the pattern of movement is repeated, hence the name continuity offense.

Continuity Offense--On the Right Track Many coaches call their "patterned" offense a "continuity" offense. In a continuity offense, players continue running the same pattern as the ball continuously reverses sides of the floor.
The Wheel Continuity Offense
This is probably the daddy of all continuity patterned offenses. Actually it consists of three consecutive plays ran first on one side of the floor, then the other.
Since this is a Continuity Offense, it doesn't matter where the ball is entered. The players should be able to recognize the position and continue the offense. We use two methods when the ball comes down the weak side....see (a) and (b) below.
Instead of a conventional numbering of players, the shuffle positions are labeled as O1 (the "first cutter"), O2 (the "point"), O3 (the "feeder"), O4 (the "second cutter") and O5 (the "post"). This is a continuity offense and if ran long enough, ...
Continuity offense: A sequence of player and ball movement that repeats until a good shot is created. Control dribble: A dribble maneuver in which the player keeps their body between the defender's body and the ball.
Do they set up or do they ran a continuity offense? L. How do they attack the zone? M. Who are their shooters, passers, penetrators, and rebounders? N. Does one of the guards run the offense? What can we do to force them out of their game? O.
