Initially, we are going to try and keep one pressure point on the ball and selectively trap when we see the opportunity i.e.

A full-court press is a basketball term that refers to a defensive style in which the defense applies man-to-man or zone defense to pressure the offensive team the entire length of the court before and after the inbound pass.

Full court press defenses try to get turnovers and easy baskets by pressuring, trapping, and harassing the offense. There are several principles and some strategies in beating this pressure.

This half-court defense is different than the conventional 1-3-1 Zone and much more efficient in my view. Most coaches have player #4 cover both corners on the baseline. That means that #4 must be tall, quick and alert.

Court and Teams
Most basketball courts measure 84 ft (25.6 m) long and 50 ft (15.2 m) wide. Professional courts are slightly larger.

Court Areas: The frontcourt of a team consists of that part of the court between its end line and the nearer edge of the division line, including its basket and the inbounds part of the backboard.

Halfcourt 4v3 No Dribble
The objective of 4v3 halfcourt with no dribbling is to encourage the player to read the game and move. Making good cuts and finding space on the court is a lost art with much of the game being 1v1 off the dribble.

Like the dictionary says, the game is played on a rectangular court. The red circles are the 45cm ( 18" ) wide baskets 3.05m ( 10' ) from the floor and fixed to back boards.

Full court variation. I would line the players up foul line extended, opposite of each other, stand underneath the basket and roll the ball out to the foul line.

The size of the court depends on the playing level. The size of the court for NBA and College games is 94 feet long and 50 feet wide. It is smaller for High School and Junior High.

2-2-1 Full Court Press
Principles of the 2-2-1: Used oftentimes when a team is trailing and time is running out on them; it's an aggressive, full-court defense used to pressure the offensive team into committing quick turnovers.

Start with 15 minutes of continuous motion, either jogging or, even better, running full court with the ball. Dribble, shoot, and rebound as usual; don't stop moving for the time allotted. You do not need to move quickly.

Drill: Stand at one end of the court. Hold one basketball in each hand. Begin to walk forward toward the opposite baseline, bouncing the ball in your right hand first.

Each team consists of up to twelve players, but only five may be on the court at any one time. In the Third Division, the total points of all the players on court must not exceed 15 points (see further below under "Classification").

NBA: After being awarded a timeout in the last 2 minutes of the game, the offensive team may select where to put the ball in play (midcourt line or designated spot out-of-bounds) if the ball has not been advanced.

Ten-second Rule - After an "inbound," offensive players have ten seconds to move the ball from their own "backcourt," over the midcourt line into their "frontcourt." ...

Over and Back- is when you come onto your side of the court and then cross back over to the other side.
Shot clock- this means in more aggressive ball that you have to get at least one shot off within the time they give you on the shot clock.
