Effective Field Goal Percentage A better representation of a player's shooting ability it takes into account the bonuses of a made threepointer. It is calculated: FGM + (0.5 x 3PM))/FGA.
Effective Field Goal Percentage (eFG%) is a modified FG%, taking into account the increased value of made three pointers. On the team level, team eFG% and opponent eFG% are a part of Dean Oliver's Four Factors.
