FIGURE EIGHT DRIBBLE DRILL
Instructions
The player dribbles the ball in a figure eight fashion, alternating hands. To do so, she begins by standing with her feet apart and leans to the right.

 


Figure Eight
This drill is similar to the ball-handling figure eights drill except now the ball is dribbled through your legs in a figure-of-eight motion. Use both hands and be sure to look up while doing this drill. See figure-8 dribbling video clip.

This drill helps with ball control.You do it the same way as figure eights except you have your players dribble the ball in a figure eight motion around,and in between legs.

The player dribbles the ball in a figure eight fashion, alternating hands. To do so, she begins by standing with her feet apart and leans to the right. He/She dribbles with her right hand, starting at the outside of her right leg.

Under certain circumstances this "figure eight" can be, and is as effective today, as it was years, ago. I might be a good second offense to have when your regular offense might not be doing so good.

Ball Handling Tip #8: For this drill, follow the procedure described in the Figure Eight Drop Drill, except that when you bounce the ball, your movement will be reversed.

Figure 8's - with dribble
Spread legs dribble the ball in a figure eight motion around and between the legs. Do this with a lot of dribbles and then with as few as possible. Stay low! ...

Another drill is to dribble in a figure eight motion around the outside of one leg, between your legs and then around the outside of the other leg.

Each player retrieves his/her own ball, returns to his/her shooting spot, and shoots again. The players off the court dribble figure eights and in unison count out loud the baskets scored. When seven baskets are scored, the teams switch roles.
