Flagrant Foul - Unnecessary or excessive contact against an opponent.
Foul - Actions by players which break the rules but are not floor violations.

 


Flagrant foul: Excessive contact committed against an opponent.
Forwards: The 2 players of a team who are usually smaller than the center and bigger than the guards.
Foul: A violation. Often an illegal contact between two players.

g. A flagrant foul is unnecessary and/or excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent.

Section IV--Flagrant Foul
a. If contact committed against a player, with or without the ball, is interpreted to be unnecessary, a flagrant foul--penalty (1) will be assessed.

Fouls are okay and encouraged - no flagrant fouls;
If get ball outside of paint must return in 3 seconds;
First player to make 3 baskets is out, remaining 2 remain and are joined by the next player in line.

On a flagrant foul, you were disqualified for the rest of the game, with no substitution… so your team might be playing with only 8 instead of 9 players. If your team committed three consecutive fouls, the other team was awarded a goal.

A personal foul on a player with or without the ball which, in the opinion of the Official, was deliberately committed by the player against an opposing player.
