The ball is being played from strong side to weak side. Players 4 cuts through the key with a high or low-post flash.
Flashing -Quick movements of an offensive player from one side of the PAINT to the other.
Flush -See DUNK.
Forward -A player that covers the corners of the court and around the BASKET. There are usually 2 forwards on the court at a time.

Flash a player into the heart of the diamond and pass the ball there, then quickly pass upcourt. All presses are susceptible to quick passing. Its really a matter of moving to the open areas and passing intelligently. The key is to avoid the traps.

Offense is flashy, but defense wins youth basketball games. Make sure your basketball training contains plenty of defensive work with these tips.
Since it's so flashy and interesting, basketball shooting is probably practiced and drilled more than any other fundamental. All players want to become the best shooter.
The Flash Cut
The flash cut is always made from the "weak-side", away from the ball. you can move toward the passer from either the low, or high post areas. To make a flash cut you should, first, take a step or two away from where you want to go.
If a pass to the block is not possible, the second option is either to pass to the weak-side guard who flashes top of the key from the weak-side wing position or passing to the strong-side corner.
The defender's presence above the foul line also ensures that nobody will be able to flash into the middle of the key from the opposite side of the floor, which is called the weak side of the floor.

Forward: A position usually played by a tall, athletic player. A "small forward" or a "3" plays on the wing, and a power forward or a "4" plays in the high or low post area.
Foul: A violation of the rules.
Offensive forward waits a count of one second before moving, either with a high post flash or running the baseline to occupy the forward spot on ball side.
If he attacks right, the left wing flashes to the top of the block, and the right wing spaces to the three-point line. The dribbler looks to score or draws-and-kicks to the open teammate.

A Great Big Man knows how to hide behind defender's eyes, make them turn their heads, and get the defender "flat" footed to create quick flash post chances in very high percentage scoring areas. Their activity is purposeful and not wasted.
It's not complicated. It's not overly flashy. But, to me, it's significantly more practical than two line lay-ups.

Playing good man to man defense is a lost art in the game of basketball. Today's game is all about offense, flash and scoring. But if you look closely, its the teams that can really play good defense that are the really successful ones.
