Flop over the wrist to get backspin on the ball for a nice soft shot. Later, when a player can jump higher, the palm can face skyward and lay the ball up softly off of the backboard with very little spin. Try not to spin the ball and be too "fancy".
The hand will flop forward and down, staying in line with the basket if there is no tension in the wrist. This gives Accuracy.
3. The defender should be vocal and yell when the contact occurs ("OH!!!")... and make an academy award "flop" back onto the mat! You've got to sometimes sell it to the ref.
