Free Throw Circle
The free throw circles have a diameter of 12 feet. They come into play on free throws and jump balls. During a free throw attempt, the shooter must remain inside the free throw circle.

Baseline to Free Throw Circle Motion
(Diagram B)-- The shooter moves back and forth from the baseline to the free throw circle.
Corner-to-Corner Motion
(Diagram C)-- The shooter moves from corner to corner.
The high pivot man moves into a position in the outer half of the free throw circle. As he reaches the position, the ball is passed to him by either guard.
Sprint back to the free throw circle or top of the key for another jumpshot. Then sprint to the midcourt circle and back to the key and repeat another jumpshot in the free throw circle.
Use the small indentation mark in the floor at the exact middle of the free throw line that was used to draw the markings for the the free throw circle.
