If is a 3-2 half-court zone press... (Diagram D). .. with three defenders across the center line, and two at the top of the key, again have your "tight end" in the middle (O4) and one of your wings along the ball-side sideline.

 


This half-court defense is different than the conventional 1-3-1 Zone and much more efficient in my view. Most coaches have player #4 cover both corners on the baseline. That means that #4 must be tall, quick and alert.

Half-Court Press - Defensive pressure applied as soon as the opposing team takes the ball into the frontcourt.

Half-court or set offense - when a team takes the time to develop a play in its frontcourt, such as the give-and-go or a screening play; opposite of fast break.

The offense run by a team after getting the ball into the frontcourt. There are many different half-court offenses, but they're all based on using player movement and ball movement designed to get an open shot.

Once you cross half-court, attack, attack, attack. The press is broken. You should have numbers(see basketball terms). Make them pay for trying to press the likes of you. Attack the basket and get some easy buckets.

Assuming you mean what half-court offenses we teach, here's what we do:
Versus Zone: 1 Motion continuity offense.

Half-court street basketball is very different from full court ball. Here are some problems associated with half court ball:
- Half court does not have a transition from one basket to the other.

Over-and-back: A violation that occurs when the offensive team lets the ball cross the center line back into their own half-court after already establishing a presence in the offensive half-court. Also called a "Backcourt violation".

Press - A full-court or half-court pressure defense in which the offense is covered very tightly as it tries to bring the ball from the backcourt into the frontcourt. The press often causes turnovers because it forces rushed, sloppy passes.
