Hang Time: The length of time a player can stay in the air while taking their shot.
Hook Shot: A popular shot for tall players usually close to or under the basket that uses a sweeping, hooking motion.

 


Hang time: The amount of time a player can stay in the air while shooting or while executing a move.
High post: The imaginary area at both sides of the free throw line.
Hoop: Name for the basket, the rim. Also used to say "Basketball".

Hang time -The amount of time a player stays in the air to shoot the ball is called "hang time". A Basketball Phrase used often with players such as Michael Jordan who were said to have long Dunk hang time.

Hang Time: This is the amount of time a player can jump and stay in the air when shooting the ball.

To achieve a four foot leap vertically - a jump that is very high for a basketball player - the hang time would be 1.0 seconds. Michael Jordan uses a few tricks to maximize his leaps, and make it seem longer.
