Lane Violation- is when the offensive team stays inside of their lane for more than 3 or 5 seconds depending on the level of the skill. Five Foul Rule- this rule is so that you can only be aloud five fouls in a game.
Lane Violation - You cannot move into the lane looking to grab a rebound when a foul shot is being taken until the ball actually hits the rim.
Lane violation - When a player enters the lane before the ball actually hits the rim during a foul shot. If this occurs, a lane violation is called which results in a turnover or another free throw attempt for the other team.
Lane Violation 1) Entering the free throw lane when the free throw is in the air but before it has touched the backboard, net, or rim.
If the post player is rushed over a possible 3 second lane violation, again, don't save him with a foul. Make the offense shoot a tough shot and focus on the rebound. See defensive skills - blocked shots.
These decisions and passes must all happen quickly so that O5 does not pick up the 3-second lane violation. Work on this in practice, emphasizing to O5 that he/she must quickly make the decision to either shoot or pass to O3, O4 or O2.
