If the two teams are tied at the end of the game, the teams play overtime periods until a winner is determined. Each overtime period last five minutes, and when one team is ahead at the end of an overtime period, the game is over.

If the game has to have a winning side, overtime periods are used for games which end normal time in a draw. There are extra periods of five minutes until a winner is found. There can be as many extra periods as necessary.

Additionally, a shot clock, ranging from 24 to 35 seconds, counts down the time the offense has to shoot the ball during each possession. An overtime period is played if a game is tied at the end of regulation time.

There is a two-minute interval between the first and second period, and also between the third and fourth period, with 15 minutes for half-time.

Team Fouls - The number of total personal fouls either team is permitted in each period or half. Once a team reaches its limit of team fouls, any additional foul sends the opposing team to the free throw line to shoot a one-and-one.
