Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics is known as a Power forward because of his height and weight. This makes it very easy for him to drive forward through the defence and take easy slam dunks and 2 point shots around the key.

 


Power forward
The power forward plays a strong physical game, specialising on the rebounds and defence.
They are also called a post player.

Power Forward
The next biggest player. They traditionally do not stray out and shoot long shots but play near the painted area and by the basket, trying for short-range shots and layups. Good power forwards are also very good at rebounding.

Power forward in basketball
The larger of the two forwards, the power forward specialises in the rebounds and defence. The player will play on the wing like the small forward but will tend to move in towards the basket to support the centre.

Power forward - The power forward is usually near the basket and moves from one side of the basket to the other to try to get free from the opposition player that is guarding him. Power forwards also are skilled rebounders.
