The travelling rule says you have to be holding the ball to travel — you must have control. You not only give up personal control but team control as well when you make a legitimate attempt for goal (no matter how poorly executed).

In NFL football, the term is sometimes used to refer to the practice squad -- as distinguished from the active squad or travelling squad -- or to the players on the inactive list.

Violations: These are minor rule breaks resulting in possession going to the opposition, They include running with the ball (travelling), illegal dribbling, kicking or punching the ball or sending it out of play, ...

Double dribble is a violation, which involves a player dribbling the ball, stopping, and then dribbling again. As mentioned above,Travelling is also a violation.

You might even remove the defender to let the players first get the feel of the drill. (making no travelling while passing)

2. Attack the ball on the upbounce when going for a steal - This is when the ball is travelling the slowest and the ballhandler has the least control.

A player must come to a correct stop after collecting the ball on the move, or when finishing a dribble, and the two-count rhythm is used to make sure of this. Otherwise it is known as travelling, and it counts as a technical foul.

We prefer to have the players learn one technique well so they are not tentative in their execution or turn the ball over with travelling violations.
We run an open post offense that is designed to create driving/scoring opportunities into the lane.
