3. Unsportsmanlike Foul
This is a personal foul committed by a player who deliberately makes contact with an opponent with the purpose of preventing him/her from playing normally and which was not a genuine attempt to play the ball.

 


An unsportsmanlike foul will cost a player $500 dollars. But it goes up from there. If a player is thrown out of the game on his first technical foul the fine is a minimum of $1,000 dollars.

FIBA basketball rules have a similar foul called an unsportsmanlike foul, which is roughly equivalent to a flagrant type 1, with the addition that an unsportsmanlike foul can be called if a player fouls with no intention to play the ball, ...

If he does not jump straight up and makes contact with his opponent who has taken a legal guarding position, it is an offensive foul. Moving under a player who is in the air and causing contact is usually an unsportsmanlike foul(dangerous play), ...
