Top Notes, Middle Notes and Base Notes: Essential Oils - There is probably no better way to enhance your skin and overall beauty, than by using essential oils. They serve a lot more purposes than just beautifying.

The mixes of scents create top notes and base notes. Top notes are the smells that you notice first, especially on perfume samples, but they also evaporate soon after application. Base notes are the smells that stay on your skin the longest.

Chypre is a name used to describe a family of perfumes, usually based on a top note of citrus and woody base notes, usually from oak moss.

Bottom notes are the fragrance anchors; they're the heaviest and stick around the longest. These are often woody, smoky, or musky. So if your favorite scent has serious staying power, it probably has more base notes in the mix.
