One or more chemical solutions, such as glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, or carbolic acid (phenol), are applied to small areas on the skin.
Its bactericidal effects are more potent than carbolic acid. Use initially on a single pimple, as in some cases the irritation caused may be too much to bear.
