Here is a picture of angular cheilitis and information about this condition of having cracks and sores in the corner of your lips. If you have this, it could be a bacterial or fungal infection.
Worst case: You can develop an infection from dirt and bacteria entering the cracks and splits on your mouth. A common complication is cheilitis, Wu says, which can be related to a yeast infection in the corners of the mouth.
