Comedo are the small plug like secretion which stops the secretion from the pores in case of acne. These plugs acts as the prominent source for the infection which acne brings along with it.

Comedone (aka Blackhead)
A pore blocked by a plug of sebum and keratin. When sebum comes into contact with air it darkens as a result of oxidation. Thus, a comedone is commonly known as a blackhead.
Comedones : Enlarged, plugged hair follicles. If the comedone is under the skin, it's a whitehead. If it breaks the surface of the skin, it's a blackhead.
Comedogenic - Capable of clogging pores.

Cyst - A large, inflammatory nodule in the skin, typically more than 5mm in diameter.
Comedogenic - is likely to produce acne.

A product applied to the skin that includes an ingredient which increases the accumulation of dead cells within the follicles (increased retention hyperkeratosis), leading to blackhead formation and acne flare-ups.

- An alcohol-free toner used after nighttime cleansing to prevent overdrying the skin.
- A daytime moisturizer with an SPF 15.
Use oil-free non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging) moisturizers with Retin-A. Olive oil, avocado, and vitamin E-based moisturizers are a good start.
