Cuticles and Winter Weather
I don't know about the rest of you but my cuticles seem to be in worse shape than they were during the summer. Perhaps we spend more time on them during the warm months, but mine definitely need looking to right now.

Properly groomed fingernails are not only attractive, they are practical. While maintaining your nails, keep in mind that with a great manicure, you're less likely to have to repair them later.
Shiny, healthy hair depends on the health of each strand's cuticle, the protective outer layer. The cuticle should lie flat in layers, like shingles on a roof.
Cuticle Outermost layer of skin (aka epidermis) or the fold of skin at the base of the fingernail. Hair cuticles are the outermost layer of the hair shaft which overlap like shingles.

The cuticle layer is your hair’s armor; it protects the heart, or the cortex, the layer beneath the cuticle. It is made of long, molecular chains of amino acids (protein) and is the largest section of your hair.

1. Use cuticle oil. Dry, raggedy cuticles look unkempt. Massage in a drop of cuticle oil to moisturize and soften dry spots.
2. Condition before going to bed. Smooth a cream nail strengthener onto and under nails before bed for extra hydration.
Now apply cuticle cream on the toe-nails and press the skin of the big and small toes with the cuticle pusher. Having done so to your satisfaction rub the lemon-skin (inside). Over the toes, skin to make it clean and shining.
Apply the cuticle oil or cream to your cuticles.

4. Apply a cuticle cream to the cuticles. Rub it in and let it set for a few minutes.

Warmed olive oil makes an excellent moisturizing hair treatment, especially when essential oils are added. Soaking fingertips in warm olive oil softens the cuticles and adds resiliency to brittle nails.
Mix 1 Tbsp of following herbs with enough boiling water and let it stand for 1/2 an hour. Add 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar and mix well. Shampoo your hair. Pour mixture over hair repeatedly. Vinegar will seal the hair cuticle.
