Dimethicone/Cyclomethicone

Dimethicone - a silicone fluid used to give a smooth feel to a cosmetic crème or lotion. Contributes a degree of water repellence, promotes easy spreading and leaves a smooth feeling without feeling either sticky or oily. Helps in the even dispersal of other ingredients.

Dimethicone
A silicone based polymer. It's a synthetic silicone oil. Companies like to use Dimethicone, because it coats the hair and it feels like it's smooth and silky. The hair looks like it's healthy. But...jut looks like and it doesn't mean that it helps to regenerate the hair.

It has dimethicone in it (same as any other smashbox primer) and works similarly for less than $10 at a drugstore. It works really well with mineral foundation.
DISCLAIMER: Like any new product I'd test it out on your jawline first to see if it works for your skin though, just in case.

Try Products with Dimethicone
Look for this silicone-based ingredient in shampoos, conditioners, styling sprays and creams. Like a lightweight sealant, it coats hairs, allowing them to smoothly slip by each other and keeping the cuticle flat and smooth.

Silicone-derived emollients (Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone)
Effectively the same as wrapping your face in cling film, these occlusive ingredients coat the skin to lock in moisture (and pretty much everything else).

One last thing about the primer, unfortunately it has dimethicone listed as the second ingredient.Now I'm pretty sure dimethicone (when listed as the first few ingredient)was the thing that totally broke me out , in my last foundation.

Make sure the moisturizing lotion you use has dry skin friendly ingredients such as dimethicone, which is a silicone that keeps moisture trapped. Hyaluronic acid, mineral oil, as well as petroleum jelly are all claimed to be skin friendly ingredients.

Silicone does not allow the skin to breathe and can cause skin irritation. Some synthetic Silicone emollients are known tumour promoters and accumulate in the liver and lymph nodes. Avoid any ingredient ending in 'cone' such as Dimethicone, Dimethicone Copolyol and Cyclomethicone.

When humidity is low, look for moisturizers that contain petrolatum, mineral oil, linoleic acid, ceramides, dimethicone, or glycerin.

Look for ingredients ending in -cone, such as dimethicone. “These ingredients will allow the perspiration to trickle down your skin without taking your foundation with it. A favorite of makeup artists on a budget is Revlon Colorstay which can be found in any drug store.' ...

Look for flower and plant extracts and oils in your skin care, like those in Kate Somerville Nourish Daily Moisturizer ($65, katesomerville.com), which are more effective and of better quality than commonly used chemicals, like dimethicone and propylene glycol.
