A silicone oil, used only in the Dianne Caine hair care products. Gives products lubricity, slip and a good feel. It improves flow and spreadability.

Silicone oils that coat and smooth down the cuticles to add thickness to your strands, reduce static, and provide shine. Oh, yeah: They also make comb-outs easier.

~ - a silicone fluid used to give a smooth feel to a cosmetic crème or lotion. Contributes a degree of water repellence, promotes easy spreading and leaves a smooth feeling without feeling either sticky or oily. Helps in the even dispersal of other ingredients.

~ copolyol can be derived in part from almonds (Prunus dulcis), avocados (Persea americana), beeswax, cocoa (Theobroma cacao) butter, olives (Olea europaea), phthalates or shea (Butyrospermum parkii) butter.

Increases the linking of hyaluronic acid and other polysaccharides to protein for a healthy shine in hair. A form of silicone used to give products a good texture, it also helps prevent moisturize loss in the skin.

~: This silicone-derivative is widely used in personal care products, including shampoo, conditioner, lotions and cleansers. Its main purpose is to smooth and condition the hair and skin.

- ~ - this ingredient is no good for the acne-prone peeps out there. It has a tendency to cause breakouts so look for a mineral foundation that doesn't have any ~.
-Paraben-free - any powder with a paraben-free formula is ideal for sensitive skin.

~, the primary ingredient in chafing gels, is also found in many cosmetics, including makeup primer. “~ doesn’t clog pores but gives you a nice, smooth finish and temporarily fills in lines and wrinkles,' Bowe says.

~: An organic silicone, used as a skin protectant and moisturizer. Well tolerated by even the most sensitive skins, ~ has a filming action on the skin surface which helps slow down moisture loss and further helps smooth fine, dry lines.

~ - A silicone oil used in the cosmetic bases, as a topical drug vehicle and as a skin protector.

A silicone based polymer. It's a synthetic silicone oil. Companies like to use ~, because it coats the hair and it feels like it's smooth and silky. The hair looks like it's healthy. But...jut looks like and it doesn't mean that it helps to regenerate the hair.

It has ~ in it (same as any other smashbox primer) and works similarly for less than $10 at a drugstore. It works really well with mineral foundation.
DISCLAIMER: Like any new product I'd test it out on your jawline first to see if it works for your skin though, just in case.

Try Products with ~
Look for this silicone-based ingredient in shampoos, conditioners, styling sprays and creams. Like a lightweight sealant, it coats hairs, allowing them to smoothly slip by each other and keeping the cuticle flat and smooth.

Silicone-derived emollients (~, Cyclomethicone)
Effectively the same as wrapping your face in cling film, these occlusive ingredients coat the skin to lock in moisture (and pretty much everything else).

When Is Dry Skin Something More?
Flaking and feeling "tight" are normal symptoms of dryness. But if they're accompanied by redness, swelling, excessive itchiness, or crusting, you should consult your dermatologist.

Most cosmetics have a silicon-based oil called ~ in them. This helps in keeping the skin soft. In addition, it also assists in giving smooth application of the product.

Skin primers contain ~ (a form of silicone) that creates a smooth canvas on your face and can even fill in lines and wrinkles. Some skin primers can be used in lieu of foundation, such as Too Faced Primed and Poreless or Miracle Skin Transformer.

Make sure the moisturizing lotion you use has dry skin friendly ingredients such as ~, which is a silicone that keeps moisture trapped. Hyaluronic acid, mineral oil, as well as petroleum jelly are all claimed to be skin friendly ingredients.

Silicone does not allow the skin to breathe and can cause skin irritation. Some synthetic Silicone emollients are known tumour promoters and accumulate in the liver and lymph nodes. Avoid any ingredient ending in 'cone' such as ~, ~ Copolyol and Cyclomethicone.

When humidity is low, look for moisturizers that contain petrolatum, mineral oil, linoleic acid, ceramides, ~, or glycerin.

Cyclomethicone - A silicone based compound that has a slightly drier finish on the skin than ~. Commonly used in men's shaving products as a lubricant to help glide the blade across your face.
