Gelatin: A protein produced from animals, used to gel liquids. Used as thickener and firming/bodying agent in shampoos and facemasks.
Gelatinous: Having the consistency of jelly or gelatin.

Gelatin(e) (A): protein obtained by boiling animal skin, connective tissue or bones, usually from cows or pigs. It's an edible form of collagen. It is used as a gelling agent, stabilizer or thickener in cooking.

(4) Knox Gelatin: this stuff works perfect for about a week, but it stinks like crazy! It is pure protein so it will attract flies if you get it wet. Mix in a bowl that you don't use for anything else. Mix with water, and nuke it for 45-50 seconds.

Alginate: Gelatinous substance obtained from seaweed and used as an emulsifier and thickening agent.
Alkalis: Substances with a pH above 7. Often used as neutralisers in cosmetics and toiletries.

A gelatinous substance found in plants and animals that is extracted for cosmetic purposes from plants such as seaweeds.

Use a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon of gelatin in 1/2 cup of warm water as a setting lotion before styling damp hair. You can also use it as a gel after putting in fridge.

The one supplement that won't work: Gelatin. Experts say eating or soaking in it won't do a thing to increase nail strength -- and a liquid soak may actually waterlog and eventually weaken nails.

This gelatin-type substance reduces excess stomach acidity, soothes and lines the mucous membranes of the digestive and intestinal tracts (assur­ing a smooth trouble-free passage of stool), and helps move cho­lesterol along.

Take 1 teaspoon of unflavored gelatin and disolve it in 1 cup of warm water.
All you have to do is just keep it in the fridge until you are ready to use it.
