Hydrolyzed human hair keratin protein is the best source, because it contains all 19 amino acids found in the hair. Human hair keratin protein has a low molecular weight. This enables the it to penetrate the hair shaft (the cortex).

The nail plate is made up of dead keratin cells held together by a natural glue of fats and water.Any loss of fats and water causes the cells to separate and results in flaking and brittleness of the nails.

It occurs when the protein keratin blocks hair follicles, creating small white bumps on the backs of the upper arms, thighs, buttocks and sometimes the face. Treatments include exfoliating ingredients like alpha hydroxy acids that unclog the pores.
