Langerhans Cell: Epidermal cell that is an important immunologic defender.
The main kind of cells that make up the epidermis are keratinocytes, melanocytes, Langerhans cells and Merkels cells. The epidermis have 5 layers Stratum basale ,stratum spinosum ,stratum granulosum, stratum licidum and stratum corneum.
The epidermis also hosts different types of cells: keratinocytes, melanocytes and Langerhans cells. Keratinocytes produce the protein known as keratin, the main component of the epidermis. Melanocytes produce your skin pigment, known as melanin.
Aloe Vera Gel is reported to prevent immune suppression of accessory cell function in skin caused by UVB by repairing damage to epidermal Langerhans cells.
