Beauty LipidLipophilic

Phospholipids are substances that contain fatty acids, glycerol, a nitrogenous base and phosphoric acid.

Lipids
These materials are soluble in alcohol (and other solvents) but not in water. Includes fatty acids, fats, waxes, fixed oils, phosphatides, cerebrosides, and sometimes steroids and carotenoids.

Soy lipids replenish the skin's protective barrier.
Squalane - Derived from olive oil, squalane chemically resembles sebum, making it a highly effective skin conditioner.
St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) refreshes skin.

Glycolipids: A plant-derived mixture of glycoceramides that help promote a stronger, healthier skin barrier.   They are able to stabilize creams and lotions without irritating surfactants.

Milk Lipids, Ceramide 3
regenerating and moisture-regulating effect..
Lavendula (Lavendar) angustifolia oil ...

Phospholipids
Derived from soy beans; antimicrobial properties, protects.
Phytosterol
Plant sterol; botanical analog to cholesterol; helps supplement the naturally occurring cholesterol present in skin cells; cholesterol is vital for healthy skin.

Phospholipids: a complex substance found in all living cells. Known to bind water and hold it in place. A natural emulsifier from a plant source.

Phospholipids :
A cholesterol-like compound naturally found in all layers of the skin, except the stratum corneum. It is one of the Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMFs) found in the skin.

Phospholipids: Reduces moisture loss in the skin, carrier for deep penetration, from plant source.
Pineapple enzymes: Exfoliant, skin softening.
Pineapple extract: Contains bromelain, a keratin-digesting enzyme.

Phospholipids- Used for its essential fatty acid properties.
Photoaging- Damage to the skin caused by the sun or ultraviolet rays.

Phospholipids
Used for its essential fatty acid properties. Used in moisturizers because they bind water and hold it in place.

Phospholipids
Stimulates collagen and elastin production, reinforcing the skin to firm contours. Provides internal moisturization, plumping up the skin to smooth out skin surface. Rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals to nourish and hydrate.

Phospholipids - Complex fatty materials found in all living cells. Emollient, antioxidant, natural emulsifiers, spreading agents.
Phosphoric Acid - An inorganic acid; a pH adjuster.

Phospholipids EFA
from soy lecithin, moisturizing, EFA stands for essential fatty acids, detangling agent
Polyglycerol-Isostearate ...

Phospholipids
Fatty substances that are important constituents of cell membranes. Plant phospholipids are similar to human phospholipids and are readily absorbed into the skin.

2) Replace lipids. Your scalp produces sebum. This is the hairs' natural source of lipids or essential fatty acids (EFA's.) If your hair grows past your neck line; The hair makes no or little contact with the body.

Glycine Soja (Soybean) Lipids - These lipids are similar to the skin's natural lipids. They hydrate, provide moisture retention capabilities, and strengthen skin's natural barrier.

to metabolize food and destroy bacterial invaders, but the use of this reactive elements is a double - edge sword, since a variety of oxygen-containing free radicals can damage body cells and skin tissues by oxidizing biomolecules such as lipids, ...

PHOSPHOLIPIDS: Type of lipid (fat) composed of glycerol, fatty acids, and phosphate. Phospholipids are essential to the function of cell membranes by providing a stable surrounding structure. Lecithin and cholesterol are phosopholipids.

Phytosterols: Plant sterols (lipids), synthesized by plants and similar to cholesterol in structure, phytosterols are believed to decrease cholesterol absorption by competing with cholesterol for receptor sites in the GI tract.

Microscopic cell-like sacs made from phospholipids. (Phospholipids are a natural component of cell membranes, attracting and holding water in place, increasing the hydration level of the skin.) When properly mixed, phospholipids form liposome spheres, ...

Microscopic sacs manufactured from natural or synthetic fatty substances which include phospholipids (components of cell membranes). When properly mixed with water, phospholipids can "trap" any substance that will dissolve in water or oil.

Skin is the largest organ on our body, made up of several different components, including water, protein, lipids and different minerals and chemicals.

A by-product of normal oxygen metabolism, caused when an oxygen molecule is produced with an uneven number of electrons from other molecules, most commonly found in DNA, lipids, cell walls, and cell interiors.

“Water strips away your skin’s protective lipids, and this can lead to dry skin,” Tsao points out. When washing your hands, always use lukewarm water and a gentle moisturizing cleanser (regular soaps can sometimes be drying).

LIPOSOMES: Hollow spherical phospholipids are used to encapsulate both water and oil soluble ingredients. Liposomes enter deep within the skin structure, slowly releasing their properties.

Lipid barrier replacement - when the lipids that hold skin cells together in the stratum corneum get poked full of holes, water evaporates and results in dryness and sensitivity.

Oil, Fixed : These are lipids, esters of long-chain fatty acids and alcohols (oily stuff) that are basically scentless. Example
Oil, Volatile : The aromatic oils obtained from plants and used for their scent. Example ...

Acid mantle - The layer of lipids (fats) and sweat secretions on top of the skin that helps to kill bacteria and protect the skin.

"Lipofilling" technology with aurone extract encourages the natural production of lipids and gives the complexion a fuller, firmer look.
A complex of 4 essential oils stimulates support fibres.

Sebaceous glands produce sebum, a complex blend of varied lipids (an assortment of fats), and dead sebaceous gland cells, (the cells that manufacture the sebum). Fats found in sebum include triglycerides, wax monoesters, squalane and free fatty acids.

Although winter sometimes feels damp, there is usually less water in the air than on your skin and that creates a moisture vapour loss from the skin. As skin becomes drier, its surface layer stops producing the natural lipids which prevent moisture ...
