Macule : A temporary red area that is the result of a healing lesions. When macules are massed in an area they make the skin look an angry red.
Macule: A flat skin lesion that has an abnormal color, coloring that differs from the surrounding normal skin. White, brown, and red are the most common color changes seen in macules. A freckle is a macule.
Freckles are tanned macules found on the skin. They are usually multiple in number. With sun exposure, they become more apparent; therefore, in the winter months, they are often imperceptible.
