Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is a water-soluble derivative of Vitamin C, a more stable and oil soluble form of ascorbic acid, which will stimulate collagen synthesis. It is anti-aging, anti-oxidant (hydrophilic), anti-acne, skin brightening agent.

 


Magnesium - deficiencies are linked to Keratoconus. Alcoholism, pregnancy, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, diuretics and stress can lead to a magnesium deficiency. Low magnesium can cause a thinning of elastic membranes such as the cornea.

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate: Vitamin C that does not oxidize upon exposure to air; an antioxidant that is linked to collagen synthesis.
Magnesium Citrate: Magnesium salt of citric acid. It is used in hair sets or bodying agents.

In hard water areas, soap residue if left on the skin can combine with the calcium and magnesium salts in the water to form a scum, which is really very difficult to remove.
