Patch testing may identify hives, general itchiness, or eczema as signs of allergies that are causing or contributing to sensitive skin.

*You may want to do a patch test behind your ear or in the crook of your arm with a new lotion you may be unsure of. Wash the spot, apply the product and wait 24 hours for any allergic reaction. If you are still not sure. Wait another 24 hours.

If it's an allergic reaction, which is characterized by a swollen rash, go to your derm, who can ID the allergen with a patch test.

A patch test on a small area of the skin is also performed since the laser device needs to be adjusted to the person's skin color, before the session.
