Beauty PolymerPolyquaternium 11

Polymers - compounds commonly used to bind styling products to the hair and sunscreens to the skin.
Polysorbate 20 - a substance used in shampoos and cleansers to build lather.
Potassium hydroxide - an alkali used in soap and shampoos.

Polymers in a water dispersed form (latexes) can bring some level of water resistance to the group of normally non-water resistant mascaras.

Some "shield" the hair shaft with polymers (polymers are strings of "like" molecules- a chain). Some detanglers are instant, some take 1-5 minutes to work. Recommendations: ...

Methylcellulose and Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose are polymers that are used in many personal care products. They are primarily used as polymeric surfactants, thickeners in liquid formulations, and as binders in solid and semi-solid products.

Carbomer: (derived from polymers and organic acids) thickens, emulsifies
Cetearyl alcohol: (combination of cetyl & stearyl alcohol from coconut oil) emollient & emulsifier
Cetyl alcohol: (from coconut) emollient and emulsifier ...

Lightening Gel: Contains kojic acid, azelaic acid, lactic, glycolic acid polymers, ascorbic acid and betacarotene.
SkinCeuticals Phyto+: Contains kojic acid, arbutin glycoside, cucumber, thyme and hyaluronic acid.

Water-based gels consist of polymers that form a film around individual hairs, making them easier to shape.
Spray gels deliver tiny droplets of polymers.
Pomades are oil-based and give hair added shine.

They both contain soluble polymers, but in different formulations.
Blow Drying: Heat is potentionally damaging to the hair because it results in the loss of natural oils and moisture, thereby making hair more prone to damage.

With silicone polymers and conditioning agents, it won't shift for eight hours, perfect for Ibiza all-nighters. Apply with your fingers and blend to find the right shade to bring out the colour of your eyes.

Polymers (long chain molecules) used as thickening and suspending agents and emulsion stabilizers in cosmetic formulations. White, slightly acidic powders, carbomers react with fat particles to form thick, stable emulsions of water and oil.

Gel Face Masks liquid masks containing polymers which cause a light film to form when they dry. They are for the younger crowd sence these masks act as mild exfoliants and clean the face lightly when cleaned off.

Isopropanol: (Isopropyl Alcohol) An organic solvent of alcohol family. Used to solubilize resins and polymers. Also found in hair colors to dissolve the oxidation dyes.
Isopropyl Alcohol: See Isopropanol.
Isopropyl Lanolate: A synthetic moisturizer.

Polymer
A family of substances, that when added to a product, provides elasticity, hardness, and strength. Examples of polymers include plastics, fibers, and rubber. It is a common ingredient in nail polishes.

Used as a setting agent in hairsprays, styling gels and mousses. A natural alternative to synthetic polymers (such as PVP) found in most mass-produced styling aids. Also used as a binder and thickener in cosmetic products.

solvent (isododecane - an isomer of dodecane), animal-derived waxes (beeswax), vegetal based waxes (carnauba wax rice bran wax, candelila wax), mineral origin wax (ozokerite, paraffin) pigments (iron oxide, ultramarine) and filmifying polymers.

There are lots of shampoos, conditioners and mousses on the market promising to volumize your hair. How does this work? These products contain humectants that swell the hair shaft while polymers coat each strand. Your hair instantly looks thicker.
