PVP
Transparent polymer that provides hold, the functional ingredient in hair spray.
Pvp-va copolymer
Complex fixative which adds exceptional clarity, and flexibility to the hair. Most common hair spray ingredient.
Used as a setting agent in hairsprays, styling gels and mousses. A natural alternative to synthetic polymers (such as PVP) found in most mass-produced styling aids. Also used as a binder and thickener in cosmetic products.
Permacol, has an "off label" use as a tissue augmentation product in Europe. Another brand available outside of the U.S. is called Fibroquel. This is an irradiated porcine collagen mixed with polyvinylpyrrolidone (aka PVP, a vinyl polymer.
