Resin
A brittle substance formed from the hardened secretions of plants. In color products, it improves the adhesion, gloss, harness, and flow of nail enamel color.

 


Resin: Substance formed from the secretions of plants.
Resorcinol: In mild solutions, used as an antiseptic and as a soothing preparation for itchy skin.
Retin-A: Derived from vitamin A, it is used in the treatment of acne.

Resin: a thick-solid, insoluble in water but soluble in alcohol, exude from trees or plants which are used as antiseptics.

Resin: Resin is usually a yellowish brown plant secretion of vegetable origin. Resins are soluble in ether, alcohol, and essential oils, but not in water.

Said to be anti-fungal and antiseptic, resins do not dissolve in water and are prepared as high alcohol tinctures.

Resin may, in time, wear out or become discolored, whereas porcelain doesn't. The other difference is that resin bonding is done in the dentist's chair. For a porcelain veneer, a mold is sent away to a dental lab to be made, then bonded on later.

Gum - a resin from tropical trees and shrubs that is used as a thickener.

GUAR GUM: A natural resin from the seeds of an Asian tree. Thickener, plasticizer and emulsifier.
HAMAMELIS WATER: (Witch Hazel) An astringent herb that possesses the ability to soothe the skin.

Aloe Vera Gel One of the most widely recognized skin care ingredient containing an emollient resin with hydrating/softening properties.

Vegetable Carbon (B): derived from either burnt vegetable matter, incomplete combustion of natural gas, activated charcoal, bones, blood, meat or various fats oils and resins
Vegetable Glycerin (V): Glycerin derived from vegetable fats.

It is sometimes used in combination with the plant resin Podophyllin, which is washed off after six hours to prevent burning of the skin. Don’t use Podophyllin while you are pregnant, as it will harm the fetus.

Hot wax is molten resin that traps any type of hair (long, short, fine or coarse) and tears them out at the root.

3) Stains and dyes-- The bonded resins used in cosmetic dentistry absorb stain much faster than natural tooth structure, and they can't be whitened by any teeth-whitening products.

Propolis Obtained from resin of bees. Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and wound healing.

Aloe Vera: An emollient resin with hydrating/softening properties.
Althea: Botanical root believed to have emollient and soothing capabilities for skin.
Beta carotene: Orange colored plant pigments, used in the manufacture of vitamin A.

Derived from tree resin; stimulates circulation, and is uplifting and rejuvenating.
Benzophenone-3
Skin friendly sunscreen; blocks UVA and UVB rays from damaging skin. Used in cream products.

Beeswax
Wax obtained from honeycombs or resin from bark. Thickener, emulsifier, and stiffing agent in ointments, cold creams, lotions, lipsticks, etc. Sometimes used as a hair removing wax.

Its secret is a special resin that clothiers apply to individual fibers to lock in smoothness. Throw wrinkle-resistant clothes in the dryer and they come out with that crisp look most garments only get after a visit to the dry cleaner.
