Resorcinol: In mild solutions, used as an antiseptic and as a soothing preparation for itchy skin.

Resorcinol, salicylic acid and sulphur all work by breaking down blackheads and whiteheads. It can take 1 to 2 months for results to show, so a little patience is required with these OTC products. Severe acne will need other solutions.

Resorcinol: Benzene derivative employed in the treatment of acne, ringworm, psoriasis, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis and other cutaneous lesions.

Sulfur and resorcinol are usually found together in acne treatments. These two ingredients work by removing dead skin cells that clog pores and by removing excess oil from the skin. They can cause redness and peeling, so be careful not to overuse.

Common ingredients used in these products to fight acne are benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulfur. If you have a bad skin reaction to any products you buy on your own, tell your doctor.

Step 3 - Apply a good quality medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. You can get creams or gels of Benzoyl Peroxide at drugstore.
