Saponification - The process or reaction of combining a base (fat) with an alkali (sodium hydroxide) to produce a salt (soap) and a free alcohol (glycerin).
Sea Salt - Salt produced by evaporation of sea water either by solar or kiln drying.

 


Saponification - the process of making soap.

Saponification
The process by which soap is created by boiling plant oil (or animal fat) with lye or potassium hydroxide. Hydrolysis of the fats and oils occurs, yielding glycerol and crude soap.

It is naturally converted into a soap through a saponification reaction with an alkaline salt.

Stearic Acid Derived from the saponification of vegetable oils and fats. Co-emulsifier and consistency regulator.

Sucrose Water soluble sugar that moisturizes the skin.
